Eyes ;; Dane has piercing ocean blue eyes that can look straight through you. If you take a good look at his eyes you can notice that they are not always the same shade of blue. When he has just fed his eyes will be light blue and they turn darker when he needs to feed.

Being an artist (painter mostly) means it will get dirty anyway with all the paint around. Build;; In the time he was born most people were outdoorsy. The same went for Dane. He spend most of his time outside, working and hunting which blessed him with a muscled body. He seems to be rather lean looking, is definitely not a broad shouldered kind of guy which makes it able for him to move fast and throw a fair punch in a fight.

You can usually see him wearing his ‘baggy’ jeans which hang low on his waist, usually a belt is what keeps it from falling of his ass. Hoodies, hats and simple t-shirts is basically what he wears every day. Due to Dane being a painter / drawer you can often find him covered in smudged of charcoal or paint. Most of the time he doesn’t even notice it himself right until someone points it out to him.

Personality ;;
Dane is a true artist at heart. Being what he is Dane is forced to keep a low profile, to keep things to himself and this he expresses in his art. For a vampire that is one of the safer ways to deal with things instead of going onto a devastating rampage. He paints and draws pretty much everyday and you can learn a lot about him when you take a look at his work. However, he is very selective on what he wants others to see or not. Dane likes to keep to himself, to keep his art to himself. Only a handful of people are allowed to take a peek at it every now and then. When he paints he often forgets the world and people around him.

He likes to test his limits to see how far he can push it power wise, speed wise or anything like that. Yet he always makes sure he is alone and there are no humans / lycans nearby when he does so. Losing control and accidentally killing someone is something Dane would never forgive himself for. Unlike many other vampires Dane is a so called ‘vegetarian’. He dislikes to hurt humans for their blood when he can easily get his hands on donated blood. Just cause Dane does not feed on humans it doesn’t mean it is easy for him to resist the temptation. Yet, no matter how hard the struggle is, Dane won’t allow himself to give in. He has made some mistakes in the past which still haunt him. Those memories he uses to keep reminding himself why it is best not to feed of humans.

Besides his art Dane has an interest in cars, moreso in a hobby kind of way. You can often find him work on his car in his free time. Or find him driving off in the middle of the night just for fun,

He is not much of a talker so often people can not get a read on him. Some even call him a brooding kind of guy. Dane is a thinker who can often be found sitting on top of his car at some place quiet where he can watch the stars. When something bothers him he usually tries to solve it on his own. He won’t let you know when he is hurt or not feeling well, he keeps things like that to himself. Something he learned was necessary to keep people on a distance, to keep them safe. When he is upset it is harder for him to control the hunger. Although at times keeping his anger inside leads to him breaking something to get his anger out. Not in a way where he would hit a person but it is known he has smashed a few mirrors with his bare fist and broke a few walls by punching it…once. It is just the way he is, but once you really get to know him you will understand what he’s all about.

He doesn’t have much trust in humanity and it takes a lot from someone to be able to get Dane to trust him/her. Some people say that people like Dane don’t put walls up to keep others out but to see who cares enough to take them down. That, Dane won’t ever admit but it does sort of fit him. Also Dane is probably one of the most stubborn people around. When he gets something in his head it is nearly impossible to convince him otherwise. He understands everyone has an own view on things or an own opinion, which he respects. Meaning that he expects others to do the same in return.

Dane doesn’t get attached to people that fast which is also something he quickly picked up in his vampire days. You can’t get too attached to people cause they will either leave or they die. He’s an alright guy who definitely has the back of his friends. When you mess with his friends, you mess with him. Which also shows he is very protective over the ones he loves or cares about. Usually he gets like this over his sister, girlfriend or girly friends.

Something that most people don’t know is that he can be very sweet and cuddly with girls. Only his his girly friends and his girlfriend will sometimes catch sight of that side of him.

Dane was born on 4 May 1701. He was the very first child of Julian and Maria Matthews and later became the big brother of two younger sisters named, Julia Matthews and Luisa Matthews. All was well in the Matthews home and for that time of the century they were a normal and hardworking family. All children were raised to be decent people and to only treat others the way you would like to be treated by others yourself. They wasn’t much money around but they had enough to have a roof above their heads and food to fill their hungry stomachs at the end of the day. They were a happy family and loved by all the townspeople.

Until tragedy hit in the form of a nasty plague which had been responsible for taken thousands of lives. Among those lives were also the ones of the Matthews family. Both Julian and Maria Matthews died in 1725, leaving their three children parentless in a harsh world. Dane did everything he could for his sisters by taking on the role of parent but even he couldn’t protect the small girls from the influenza. Soon one by one they started to fall ill and Dane watched his family die from the very same thing that would threaten his own life not much later.

The moment Dane fell ill, knowing he wasn’t going to survive, he just gave up. His family was gone, most people he cared for and called his friends had been taken by the influenza. That was until one night he woke up, feeling the softest and coldest touch of a girls fingers on his cheek. What happened right after that Dane will never forget in his entire ‘life’. That night ,at the age of 26, Dane was turned into the vampire he is today which technically ended his life and brought him back into life at the same time.

Later Dane learned that a group of vampires had been having an eye on him to make him part of their clan. Something they still managed to do at the very last moment. Years and years went on as they travelled all over the world and enjoyed the life of the vampire. Eventually when Dane could hardly remember anything from his mortal life did he became curious if he still actually had some blood related family walking around on this planet. Everyone in his clan seemed to be a great ancestor to a handful of humans living in the present time. To his surprise it didn’t take him very long to find the last two people who he seemed to be related to. A woman called Victoria Mackenzie and her daughter, Reese Mackenzie. Dane had never planned on revealing himself to them. He just wanted to see who they were to settle his curiousity.

But, when he laid eyes on the then little Reese Mackenzie he felt an instant bond with her. From that moment Dane became some sort of a guardian, a big brother, over the human girl if you will. She was basically the last remaining person from his bloodline, the last person he could call his human family. Dane feels protective over her and makes sure she is safe. They have a strong bond and even though he might not say it much he loves her like a sister.

He followed the family to Europe when they moved and remained in the vampire manor in Manchester as that is the city Reese currently lives. Right now Dane focuses on his art and just lives his life the way he likes it to.
